The Fire and Reason

"Shut Up Dance" is the name of the MOVEMENT, being lead by NYC Electro-Rock explosion THE FIRE AND REASON (TFaR), and it's that phrase that pretty much sums up everything TFaR 3.0 represents. Formed in 2006 by Bella Saona (from Brazil) and Steve Narvaez (from Ecuador) they have made their beats harder, their basslines drrtier and their songs even more decadent than in previous incarnations. Imagine a rabid Karen O singing over tracks written by MSTRKRFT and remixed by JUSTICE! In a major coup TFaR got Parisian THE TOXIC AVENGER to remix their infectious hit "NME", and really put a BIG STOMP in the electro-dance world. Singing in both Spanish (Mi Corazon) and Portuguese (Preste Atençao) TFaR remain true to their Latin roots. From full on ROCK to Baile Funk that gets played out live with bassist Lee Greenman, join them for a crazy, dance, pop explosion on stages all over the world. "It's no shocker that former electroclash Svengali and New York club music impresario Larry Tee plans to release the debut album from this fresh-from-the-streets-electro-rock act. A combination of Lower East Side rock chick, 80s Madonna, South American hipster and international jet-setter, Saona has that effortless star quality that sets some electro-rockers a few nothches higher right off the bat. The band has the potential to break electro-rock in the mainstream—they could give the Ting Tings a run for their money." *Time Out Chicago*
